POSITION SUMMARY 

The Classroom Technology Support Student Worker will facilitate classroom web conferencing technology, provide basic technical support for The King’s University's web-enabled classrooms, and moderate and track student progress during web conferencing sessions. This position will assist the instructors in setting up and administering equipment and software along with troubleshooting technical issues in the classroom. Students who are hired must be eligible for the Student Worker Program. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with setup, facilitation, and troubleshooting of instructor workstations, audio/visual equipment and software, and web conferencing systems to ensure a smooth experience for instructors. 

  • Provide basic technical support to faculty and students when connecting to web conferencing systems to promote ease of system use.  

  • Monitor and support operation of the web conferencing system’s various components to maintain a smooth user experience.  

  • Perform setup and basic management of resources, handouts, polls, and other items within the web conferencing system promote operational efficiency.  

  • Monitor and track faculty and students’ questions and comments during live sessions to ensure a seamless user experience.  

  • Track attendance for on-ground classes as needed for University records.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 or more credit hours as an undergraduate student OR at least 4 or more credit hours as a graduate student.  

Competencies: 

  • Strong customer service aptitude.  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.  

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.  

  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure  

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines/timeline requirements. 

  • Experience with MacOS and Windows-based devices (required) 

  • Superior troubleshooting skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
